Sustainability
Our commitment to the environment
The management at Best Western CTC Hotel Verona is especially committed to promoting environmental sustainability by encouraging widespread responsibility among guests and staff members and by trying to implement sustainable daily activities.
We feel that it is possible to combine the comforts of a 4-star hotel with environmental commitment, and also to reduce the consumption of valuable resources such as water. Environmental sustainability is a long journey that leads to consistent and significant goals over time and through team effort rather than individual effort.
We strongly believe that encouraging sustainable practices generates added value for the customer, and that adopting sustainability as a guiding philosophy in hospitality is essential to the preservation of the environment and the promotion of corporate social responsibility.
Partnerships
In 2013 the Best Western CTC Hotel Verona joined the project “Stay for the Planet”, a program designed to determine the degree of sustainability of the Hotel by monitoring the management of 5 key elements: Energy, Water, Waste, Purchasing and Behaviors.
To date, the Hotel has been awarded 4 out of 5 possible leaves, and we are sure that the unfaltering commitment and the strong motivation to improve that have been driving us throughout this journey, offer the appropriate incentive to pursue more efficient environmental policies.
Thanks to the groundbreaking partnership with LifeGate, the Hotel submits periodic reports on the main environmental indicators, recording an improvement of overall CO2 emissions, optimization of water resources management in relation to services and decreased energy consumption.
Our hotel is also committed to raising awareness among guests, staff and suppliers so that they are all involved in the environmental sustainability process.
At Best Western CTC Hotel Verona, sustainability goes beyond the environment
We also believe in the social value of our territory. For this reason we collaborate with Pasticceria Giotto, an excellent reality born inside the Due Palazzi prison in Padua. Every day, in our buffet, you can taste a selection of their artisanal desserts: small wonders that are born from a project that offers training and professional qualifications to inmates, teaching them the art of pastry making.
The sustainable actions
- Sorted waste collection
- Purchases’ analysis and control to reduce wastefulnesses
- Water-save system
- Purchase of biological or label products
- Biological corner at the breakfast buffet
- Promotion of forms of collective transport
Green Key Certification
Best Western CTC Hotel Verona has affirmed its commitment to environmental and territorial sustainability by obtaining the international Green Key certification, the primary standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable management in the tourism sector.
The facility has implemented multiple green initiatives, including waste separation, water and energy conservation, the purchase of organic food and beverages from sustainable agriculture, and the reduction of food waste.
A key point is the active involvement of the staff, who are fully engaged in sustainability, aware, and constantly updated on the best practices to be implemented in the daily management of routine activities.
